My journey at Specsavers started as a freelancer working on a project to build templates that would be used in the creation of digital display assets. After 3 years and multiple contract extensions I joined full time. Since then I have worked on a huge array of projects to really test my skills and expand on them. I’ve been a graphic designer since leaving school, starting my career in magazine publishing. I have a deep appreciation for creativity, but I’m equally intrigued by the technical aspects of design and leveraging software to its fullest potential.
Personal Specsavers work - Harry Potter
Inspired by a campaign for the Specsavers Harry Potter collection I wanted to see if I could recreate the animated advert in CGI using the 3D software Blender to model, texture and light the scene. After Effects was used to bring the scene together and ads some effects.
Personal Specsavers work – Office Refresh
When it was announced that Specsavers Creative was to undergo a refresh this inspired me to have a go at modelling the office in Blender and make some changes myself.
My Personal work
Here is a selection of my work I do outside of Specsavers which is all CGI work done inside Blender. I like to work on all areas of CGI including modeling, texturing and lighting so I can really push my skills and learn new ones.
Outside of work
I live in the lovely countryside of Somerset with my wife, 4 year old son and a very active cocker spaniel so it may not be a surprise that outside of work I am very active with lots of dog walks, soft plays and parks. When I do get a chance to slow down I make the most of it by improving my 3D computer skills, playing my favourite videogame Final Fantasy XIV, watching anime or reading a good fiction book of which I am currently reading through the Skullduggery Pleasant series.
Pets
Piper is my 3 year old Cocker Spaniel who loves big walks, long naps and playing in a ball pool (this is not a one off shot below, she really cannot get enough of the ball pool).
