My work at Specsavers
Within my time at Specsavers, I have had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of assets span- ning through different languages. Recently I have been developing my skills by working on a large selection of assets within UK print, with the majority of my time spilt between working on both local assets and master templates for new campaigns.
My role allows me to work on all types of assets, and I enjoy seeing the different campaigns come to life, whether it be in something small like digital display, or the larger OOH assets.Throughout my time here I have been able to develop my skills through taking both InDesign & Photoshop exams, which have been extremely helpful towards understanding different techniques and processes that we use at Specsavers, and also within my personal work too.
Alongside everyday work, I’ve had the opportunity to create two meeting room door signs. As a group we took inspiration from retro travel posters, and I am extremely happy with the outcome. All the posters look amazing together and it’s great to see them fully realised and in situ.
My Personal work
Outside of Specsavers, I have worked on a few different personal projects. Most of these are to develop my skills and explore new mediums in my free time. Alongside these I have many projects I worked on throughout my education. I worked on a wide range of briefs which allowed me to work with different mediums and programmes.
A few favourites of mine merge with my hobbies, in 2020 I worked on an interpretative brief for the 75th liberation of Guernsey. I chose to visualise 75 years of motor sport. I got to meet with a wide range of people who shared their photos and memories with me. This banner now travels around to various motorsport events on the island to be displayed.
Outside of work
During my free time, I enjoy working on my motorbikes and racing at Vazon. Racing is a tradition in my family, and I’m thankful I get to race alongside family and friends alike during the summer. Re-storing old motorbikes is also an area of it that I enjoy, I’m currently working on two projects to restore two motorbikes back to their former glory.
I also like to play basketball! I’ve played in the Island Games for Guernsey, and I’m preparing for my second inter-island match against Jersey. I’ve played for three different teams over the past nine years and currently play for Imperium Comets, who are leading the league standings.
