I specialize in digital works with every project teaching me something new. My favourite kinds of projects are ones that increase my understanding of principles, processes, and software! I've always been drawn to problem solving and creativity, the result of which can be seen below.
My work at Specsavers - the Door posters
A collection of posters to work as some doors. Previously, the meeting rooms they belonged to were given codes that seemed very impersonal when referring to them. As part of making the office space less corporate, they had been renamed after some local beaches. I was responsible for creating the poster for Cobo Bay! The collection was made by various Production Artists, so each poster has it's own personal flare.
My work at Specsavers - Procedural SKU SHADER
A custom node group within Blender that works as a completely independent shader for the range of materials we use in our glasses. From translucent acetate to rough metal, the shader is able to cover the entire spectrum. In addition, there are many volumetric features to allow for a completely customisable tortoiseshell material, with editable features such as size, density, seed, and sharpness.
My work at Specsavers - The studio logo animation
A logo animation for The Studio within Specsavers Creative. The logo was made by various production artists and animated by myself. As part of a development of identity, this was created to feature at the start of the Studio Showreel. To begin with, the logo was going to have many 3D elements within its animation, hence its production in Blender. After some progress, the logo's 3D animations were developed to be more visually concise. At least its production in Blender makes some cool behind the scenes imagery, right?
My Personal work
Outside of work I create a range of artwork for my Instagram page. These images are typically a result of experimentation across the Adobe Suite. They explore topics I find interesting, such as liminal spaces or dream-like imagery. I try to keep them pretty free-flowing and vague with no particular brief to let the project develop into unfamiliar directions to act as an opportunity to learn.
Fun fact, I once met Peter Andre in a McDonalds. He only ordered carrot sticks.
